1.  Pick up you fire safety folder.

2.  Get in your assigned groups of three.

3.  Open your fire safety folder to see what role you have been assigned.

4.  Read the paragraph below for the role you have been assigned and follow the directions listed.

 

                                                                       

Firefighter 1:  You are going to visit the sites provided to research home fire hazards and fire prevention tips.  You will need to take notes on your findings so that you can include the information in the brochure your group will be making later.  Please remember the information you provide in your brochure may save lives so it must be accurate.  You will also need to look at the sites provided for information on home escape plans in order to design your own home escape plan.

5.  After viewing the sites assigned to your role, decide as a group how you want to design your brochure. Each of you are responsible for using the information you were assigned to complete one section of the brochure.   Please remember other students will be reading these so they need to be well organized and neatly written.

6.  On a piece of poster board, create a simple floor plan of your home.  Use a red marker to show one way you would escape from each room of your home if it was on fire.  Use a blue marker to show a second way out (if possible) of each room in your home.  The plan must also show the place outside where your family will meet.
