2/28/05: The next SAACS seminar will be held on Wednesday 3/2 at Noon in SC305. Dr. Gary Morrow from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Dayton will be presenting a seminar entitled "Anodic Oxidation of Oxygenated Aromatics: Applications in Organic Synthesis". Please try to attend. Remember, we will also be electing SAACS officers at this meeting.
2/11/05: Professor Albert Cotton, a very well-known inorganic chemist, will be presenting a seminar at Miami University on Thursday, March 31 at 4PM. We will be running a van to see the talk, and you'll also get an opportunity to tour the chemistry department at MU before the talk. Interested? Please email Dr. Walters to hold a spot on the van!
2/11/05: Interested in going on a hike? Dr. Niewahner will lead students on a hike in the Red River Gorge on Saturday April 2. We will be out on the trail most of the day, then have dinner on the way back to NKU. Intersted? Email Dr. Walters or SAACS.

10/8/04: SAACS and BBB will host a joint meeting on Wednesday October 13 from noon to 1 PM in SC 402. Representatives from Proctor & Gamble will be making a presentation on job opportunities within P&G, as well as tips on how the hiring process works. Anyone thinking about working at P&G (or any industry) in biological or chemical applications should not miss this meeting! Pizza will be provided, courtesy of P&G.
9/20/04: The fall popularity fundraiser has started! Is there a chemistry department faculty member that you'd just love to see get hit with a pie in the face? If your answer is yes, then make sure you contribute to that person's jar. Stop by the chemistry department office (SC 204 F) and add to their jar as many times as you like between now and the end of fall term. The person with the greatest total gets "rewarded" with a pie! Weekly updates will be posted on the SAACS website and distributed via the SAACS listserv. Proceeds will go to support student travel to this year's spring annual meeting of the American Chemical Society. Let's fill those jars!
