Activities Winter Dinner Date: Friday December 10th Come have some great food in great company. The dinner combines students and faculty alike into one great space. Meet the Faculty Meet the Faculty is designed to give students and faculty the opportunity to get to know one another on an academic and social level. We hope to give ample opportunity to all faculty, but if you have a specific faculty member you want to meet or get to know sooner, let us know. Also, if there is any faculty who is eager to meet the students, contact Gwen or Andy to secure a date. Wednesday, Sept. 29 — Prof. Andy Miller — 12 Noon, LA531 Wednesday, Oct. 20 — Dr. Chris Wilkey — 12 Noon Film Nights Take a break from reading and join us for the film adaptations. Suggestions for specific films are welcomed, though we want to stay on a literary track. Whenever possible, we will also provide experts to give us a brief background to the time period or literary significance. Thursday October 28th — Halloween Party: Rocky Horror Picture Show Coffee Shop Study Group This group is designed to give students the opportunity to help one another, and gain some social activity while doing so. We all have different strengths in our English studies. Let's use them to help each other with our weaknesses. Maybe you are having difficulty with a specific text or author, or maybe you have read the same text in several classes and could offer others some insight that you've learned along the way. This group is simply intended to promote further discussion to the texts we are learning in class and possibly gain some insight from one another. Annual Book Sale Dates: October 26-29, 2004 Thanks to all who contributed to the success of this year’s book sale!! Guest Speakers Meet locally, nationally, and internationally renowned authors and literary personalities. Specific personalities and dates are yet to be determined. Trips to Cincinnati Events Have you ever wanted to see a play or movie, or go to an opening or event in Cincinnati but you could not find anyone to go with you and did not want to go alone? This activity is for you. Let us know what events you want to add to the list, and we'll see what we can do to get some people together to carpool. Check the Discussion Board for last minute dates and times of carpools.
