CONSTITUTION MISSION Of equal importance, the purpose of this organization is to:
A) Foster solidarity among African students and the students of Northern Kentucky University.
B) Represent the concerns of African students in matters that affect them at Northern Kentucky University, and
to promote their welfare. C) Render assistance to new African students in settling down at the university and in their general integration into the community.
D) Enable African students to share the
cultural wealth of the African continent and encourage the spirit of multiculturalism within both Kentucky University and the Northern Kentucky community at large.
E) Strive to work hand-in-hand with
other student organizations and the International Student Affairs office.
F) Raise awareness and to arouse interest in African cultures and affairs within Northern Kentucky University and the Northern
Kentucky community.
MEMBERSHIP
All African students enrolled in Northern Kentucky University are automatically members unless objected by the student. Membership is also open to all students of Northern Kentucky University.
REGULAR MEMBERSHIP
Expectations:
1. Will be willing to assist the officers through helping organize events and to participate in the committees. Privileges:
1. Voting rights. FACULTY ADVISOR
The Union faculty advisor will be chosen by 2/3 of the majority vote of the officers present. The president is to formally approach the person selected to be the Union's faculty advisor and ask for approval to be a
faculty advisor.
A faculty advisor is to:
1. Attend ASU meetings.
